Robotics & Coding Program
Where creativity meets code, and robots come to life.
Overview
The Robotics & Coding Program at STEMlens Network introduces students to the exciting world of robots, automation, and computer programming. Through hands-on learning and real-world challenges, learners build intelligent machines, develop problem-solving skills, and gain the confidence to become future-ready innovators.
Whether you’re just starting out or ready to compete on global stages, this track meets you where you are, and takes you further than you imagined.
What Students Will Learn
- The fundamentals of robotics systems, sensors, and actuators
- Block-based and text-based coding (Scratch, Python, Arduino)
- How to build and program robots for real-world challenges
- Debugging, iteration, and collaborative problem-solving
- Ethical use of technology and responsible innovation
Tools & Platforms Used
- LEGO® Education
- Arduino & Micro:bit
- Scratch & Python
- VEX Robotics (for advanced learners)
- STEMlens Challenge Kits
Progression Pathway
No experience? No problem. We grow with you.
Beginner:
Start with block-based coding and basic robot design using LEGO® or Scratch.
Intermediate:
Dive into microcontrollers, wiring, and functional sensors with Arduino or Micro:bit.
Advanced:
Code complex robots, explore AI integrations, and design autonomous systems for global competitions.
Real-World Applications
Students use their robotic creations to address real-world challenges aligned with the SDGs:
- Sorting robots for waste management
- Assistive robots for persons with disabilities
- Automated irrigation or greenhouse systems
They showcase their innovations at:
- STEMlens Innovation Fairs
- Regional Robotics Challenges
- International Competitions (e.g., Robocup, FIRST LEGO League)
Pitch & Protect Module (Integrated Benefit)
Every student in this program also completes the STEMlens Pitch & Protect Module, where they:
- Learn to confidently present their robots and code to judges, mentors, and potential sponsors.
- Practice public speaking and storytelling to make their innovations stand out at competitions and fairs.
- Understand basic Intellectual Property (IP) principles so they can protect their designs, software, and inventions.
This ensures our robotics students don’t just build solutions, they know how to showcase, pitch, and safeguard their work on any stage, from local events to global competitions.
Badges & Certification
- Robotics & Coding Certificate of Completion
- STEMlens Robotics Competency Badge
- Competition Readiness Endorsement
- Certified Innovator – Pitch & Protect (for all Academy participants)
These recognitions help students build confidence, demonstrate mastery, and prepare for advanced opportunities.
