Robofest Kenya 2025
Robofest is an exciting robotics competition aimed at nurturing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving among students in grades 5 through 12.
To participate, teams must qualify at the Robofest Kenya Qualifier, scheduled for February 1, 2025. Winners from Kenya will advance to represent their country in this global championship.
Whether you’re a budding innovator or an experienced robotics enthusiast, this competition offers an opportunity to showcase creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while competing for top honors.
Competition Details
Date: 16th – 17th May, 2025
Venue: Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan, USA.
Categories and Age Groups
Robofest features a variety of engaging competition categories for students across Junior (Grades 5–8) and Senior (Grades 9–12) divisions:
- Game: Fully autonomous robots compete on dynamic playing fields with unknown tasks unveiled during the event.
- Exhibition: Teams present creative robotics projects with complete freedom of design.
- BottleSumo: Robots compete in a sumo-style challenge with partially unknown tasks.
- Unknown Mission Challenge (UMC): Robots navigate completely unknown tasks for maximum innovation.
- Vision-Centric Challenge (Vcc): Senior teams focus on robots guided by vision technology.
- RoboArts and RoboMed: Autonomous robotics integrated with arts or medical applications.
- RoboParade: Autonomous robot parades based on creative themes.
Team Structure
- Teams can include 2–5 students depending on the category.
- Each team must work independently, with no direct adult assistance during the competition.
